Computational Modelling of Polymer Nanocomposites

Applications are invited for a PhD position to be held at the Department of
Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering of the University of Limerick
(www.ul.ie). This studentship is for 3 years. The award includes a scholarship
at the rate of EUR 1300/month and payment of University fees.

Background:
Nanoclay particles offer a cost effective reinforcement for
thermoplastic polymers. The main challenge in exploiting these materials is
optimisation of their morphology. This can potentially be achieved in a typical
industrial forming process, through a careful optimisation of process
parameters. Advanced computational modelling of such processes can be a
useful tool in achieving that goal.

Research tasks:
The successful candidate will work on the development of
advanced computational modelling of a highly-complex nonlinear behaviour of
nanoclay-reinforced polymers subjected to mechanical loads at temperatures
around glass transition. The ultimate objective of this research is to optimise
process parameters (strain, strain rate, temperature) to enhance both
mechanical and barrier properties of polymer nanocomposites. The research
will address: (1) implementation of the 3D polymer constitutive model into FE
software ABAQUS, (2) development of computational models reflecting 3D
nanocomposite morphologies, and (3) development and implementation of a
3D multi-scale strategy to predict overall nanocomposite response.
Eligibility criteria and further information: Both EU and non-EU resident
candidates will be considered. Candidates should hold a first or upper second
class degree in engineering (or closely related discipline). They should have a
strong background in solid mechanics and FEM, previous experience in
programming (e.g. Fortran, Python), and interest in polymers.

The University of Pisa announces a competition, based on academic qualifications, for the admission of candidates educated abroad to the Ph.D. Schools starting in 2010. The list of the Ph.D. Schools (and their Ph.D. programs) is attached to this document (Attachment A). The overall number of candidates without the study grant which can be admitted to each Ph.D. program is one.

Both qualifications must be awarded by non-Italian institutions.
The equivalence of each qualification to one of the above-mentioned Italian degrees will be established (for the sole purpose of this competition) by the Academic Board of the School.
The University may exclude candidates lacking admission requirements at any time.

What is Special Scholarship Program (SSP)?
Special Scholarship Program (SSP) was established in 2003 in order to support the advanced research of the university by enlisting the help of highly capable international students. Every year in April and October, the university enrolls selected foreign doctoral students under specific research projects. The students pursue the doctoral course in English while at the same time assisting their host professor as a research assistant (RA). Through this program KUT wishes to expand and deepen international ties with academic and educational institutions all over the world.

Established in 2009 by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council (RGC), the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme aims at attracting the best and brightest students in the world to pursue their PhD programs in Hong Kong’s institutions.

Eligibility

Those who are seeking admission as new full time PhD students in UGC-funded institutions of Hong Kong, irrespective of their country of origin and ethnic background, should be eligible to apply. Applicants should demonstrate outstanding qualities of academic performance, research ability / potential, communication and interpersonal skills, and leadership abilities.

The Fellowship

The Fellowship provides a monthly stipend of HK$20,0001 and a conference travel allowance of HK$10,0001 per year for the awardees for a maximum period of three years. 135 PhD Fellowships will be awarded for the 2010/11 academic year2.

Review Panels

MSc Molecular Mechanisms of Disease Scholarships at Radboud University

MSc Molecular Mechanisms of Disease scholarships
In the 2006 - 2008 period, 9 talented students from outside the EER received financial support from our MMD Study Fund. For the 2009 curriculum year, 6 talented non-EER students have been selected that receive full scholarships covering all study and living costs. These students come from Turkey, India, Ethiopia, and Zambia.

For the 2010 curriculum year, we will also select 6 non-EER students that will receive a full scholarship. Candidates for the MMD scholarship however must apply before 1 December 2009 and thereby can also apply for HFP or NFP fellowships (deadlines 1 February and 1 March 2010 respectively).

PhD positions in the NCMLS graduate school
Approximately 160 PhD students are part of the Nijmegen Centre for Molecular Life Sciences graduate school. Each year, more than 40 PhD positions become available. MSc MMD graduates are prime candidates for these PhD positions, which have been written by one of the 40 Principal Investigators of the NCMLS.

Personal PhD grants
A successful research career starts when a masters student writes his/her own research project. The Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre has provided 3 PhD grants for the best projects written by Molecular Mechanisms of Disease (MMD) or Biomedical Science (BMS) students that started their masters in 2007. The selected students will start their projects in September of 2009. Likewise, 3 PhD projects have been reserved for MMD and BMS students who have started their masters in 2008.

For the students starting their MMD or BMS masters in 2009 and thereafter, 6 PhD projects will be available on yearly basis.

Students who want to apply for (almost) full scholarships such as HSP, NFP and MMD Study Fund should send in their application before 1 December 2009 (to start in September 2010).

The Department of Computer Science of the University of Cyprus intends to officially announce shortly (within the next three months) a position for a Research Associate within the research project “Tooling of and Training for Collaborative, Distributed Product Innovation” (idSpace), to be funded by IST of FP7.

The position is initially for one year, renewable for one more year. The annual salary for a Research Associate starts at the A8 scale (about EUR 15,000 initially), but the exact amount will depend on qualifications and prior experience. Innovative design is characterised by an intense, collaborative process of generating and exploring ideas meant to contribute to the solution of particular problems.

Innovators go through cycles of divergence, in which new ideas are generated and explored, and convergence, in which new ideas are valued and detailed. The idSpace project will design and build a responsive web-based environment that will offer an integrated suite of knowledge eliciting and sharing tools, and create a collective, sharable memory to support the entire innovative design process.

A suitable candidate for the above position should have a degree in Computer Science or related field and post graduate studies related to one or more of the following areas: Context Awareness, Adaptive Systems, Ontologies, User Modeling, e-learning, Collaborative learning.

Candidates should also have experience in conducting research and possess good programming skills. Applicants need not be citizens of the Republic of Cyprus. Knowledge of the Greek language, although considered a practical advantage, is by no means a requirement. The research activities pursued by the successful applicant can lead to the earning of a Ph.D. if s/he so wishes (in this case, any academic fees for enroling to the Department`s Ph.D. programme are waived).

Due to the involvement of the successful candidate in using cutting edge technologies, this post is also suitable for a post doc position. Informasi Program Beasiswa ini disponsori oleh Ford Foundation dan bertujuan untuk mendukung dan memberikan penghargaan kepada mahasiswa program Doktor (S3) di Indonesia yang proposal penelitiannya dinilai dapat memberikan kontribusi untuk kemajuan Indonesia melalui pemikiran yang inovatif, visioner, dan berdampak signifikan terhadap perkembangan dan kemajuan masyarakat Indonesia serta masa depan Indonesia.

Beasiswa ini disediakan bagi calon pemimpin bangsa yang dapat secara cermat mengidentifikasi dan memformulasikan permasalahan serius yang dihadapi oleh bangsa ini, serta menawarkan solusi inovatif dan praktis melalui penelitian S3-nya. Nilai tambah akan diberikan kepada penelitian yang dapat menerapkan pendekatan multi- atau antar disiplin.

Beasiswa akan diberikan dalam bentuk dana untuk penelitian dan penulisan disertasi sebagai bagian dari persyaratan penyelesaian studi S3 (termasuk pengumpulan dan pengolahan data). Beasiswa ini terbuka bagi kandidat Doktor dari bidang studi apapun dengan prestasi akademik cemerlang yang proposal penelitiannya sudah disetujui oleh promotor dan/atau pihak perguruan tinggi.

Persyaratan

* Setiap pelamar beasiswa harus memenuhi persyaratan berikut:

* Warganegara Indonesia dan tinggal di Indonesia

* Terdaftar sebagai mahasiswa aktif di perguruan tinggi di Indonesia pada program Doktor (S3)

* Sudah lulus semua mata kuliah yang wajib ditempuh dan sudah memenuhi seluruh persyaratan akademik untuk dapat memulai penelitian pada program S3

* Baru akan memulai melakukan penelitian atau sedang melakukan penelitian pada program S3

* Sudah menempuh ujian proposal penelitian dan secara resmi mendapatkan persetujuan untuk memulai penelitian dari pihak perguruan tinggi dan Promotor atau Tim Penguji

Beasiswa Djarum - Beswan Djarum

Beasiswa ini diberikan selama dua semester (1 tahun). Pada tahun ajaran 2008/2009 besarnya beasiswa yang diberikan kepada mahasiswa sebesar Rp500,000 per bulan selama satu tahun dan pada tahun ajaran berikutnya 2009/2010 akan ditingkatkan menjadi Rp600,000 per bulan selama setahun. Selain itu mahasiswa juga akan dibekali dengan pelatihan soft skills yang meliputi outbound, leadership training, practical skills dan entrepreneurship.

- Pria atau wanita.
- Sedang menempuh Tingkat Pendidikan S1 (Strata 1).

Kementrian Pendidikan Singapura dengan ini menawarkan beasiswa ASEAN bagi para pelajar berprestasi untuk melanjutkan pendidikan pada tingkat : SMP dan SMA di Singapura, yang akan berakhir dengan Ujian General Certificate of Education ‘Advanced’ Level (atau setara) Excamination. Pelajar yang berhasil menempuh ujian GCE ‘A’ Level Examination dengan sukses dapat melanjutkan pendidikan tingkat sarjana di National University of Singapore (NUS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), atau Singapore Management University (SMU) melalui program beasiswa yang diberikan oleh universitas bersangkutan.

AusAID will accept ALA Scholarship applications for the 2010 academic year from March 19, 2009 until June 30, 2009.

ALA Scholarships are offered to high achievers from the Asia-Pacific region to undertake postgraduate study (Masters or Doctorate) at an Australian university. Study programs must relate to AusAID’s priority areas of disability, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development and water & sanitation. Scholars also undertake an extensive Leadership Development Program while in Australia.

Selection for ALA Scholarships is highly competitive, based on leadership qualities and on academic excellence.

Goal of the ALA Scholarship Program

Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) Master and Doctoral Scholarships 2009 at School of International Health The University of Tokyo

School of International Health, The University of Tokyo offers advanced study and research opportunities under the Asian Development Bank-Japan Scholarship Program (ADB-JSP) for oversea students from ADB member countries. Applicants for this program must have a citizenship or nationality of a developing country among the ADB member countries. The ADB-JSP at our school is designated for the Masters and Doctors Program that usually lasts for two years (for Mastes) and three years (for Doctors) and commences on 1st April every year. Language used in the program is English.

Overview

ADMISSION TO THE PROGRAM
The applicants are evaluated by the School Committee and distinguished applicants are nominated as candidates for the program and subsequently recommended to the Asian Development Bank. Admission to the ADB-JSP is finally granted for about five applicants by the Graduate Council of the University of Tokyo based on the recommendation of School of International Health and approval of ADB.

The University of Tokyo maintains an extremely high academic standard with a limited number of students. Admission to the program is very competitive, thus outstanding applicants are expected to apply.

To be eligible for admission to this program, applicants:
1. must be a citizen or national of an ADB member country listed above;
2. must have finished at least 18 years of school education (except language education);
3. must hold a degree from an accredited institution that is comparable to the Master Degree awarded by the University of Tokyo;
4. must have working experience for at least two years in the field of health/medical science;
5. must be aged below 35 years;
6. must not be military personnel;
7. must be able to arrive in Japan between 1st and 10th of April, 2010
8. must agree to return to his/her home country after completion of studies under the Program;
9. must not be living or working in a country other than his/her home country;

* *IMPORTANT: The duration of scholarship is only TWO years although Doctors program lasts for three years.

There is no guarantee that you can take another scholarship for the third year.
* *Applicants already have studied abroad have lesser priority.

Beasiswa Bantuan Program Pasca Sarjana (BPPS) Ditjen Pendidikan Tinggi (Dikti) atau dikenal dengan beasiswa BPPS ditujukan bagi dosen atau tenaga pengajar yang berstatus Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS) untuk program pasca sarjana.

BPPS Direktorat Jenderal Pendidikan Tinggi hanya diberikan kepada dosen yang mengikuti pendidikan pascasarjana, baik magister (S2) maupun doktor (S3), pada program studi yang diselenggarakan secara reguler dan telah memperoleh akreditasi pada jalur akademik oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Pendidikan Tinggi (BAN-PT).

Program studi yang akan dipertimbangkan untuk mendapatkan prioritas dalam seleksi calon penerima BPPS adalah program studi dalam bidang ilmu yang yang memiliki nilai strategis bagi pembangunan nasional, seperti: teknologi, MIPA, pertanian, sosial dan ekonomi, kesehatan dan pendidikan.

Pada tahun 2009 jumlah BPPS mahasiswa baru untuk S2 sebanyak 5.500 orang, sedangkan untuk S3 sebanyak 2.000 orang. Total 7500 alokasi beasiswa BPPS 2009. Pengalokasian Distribusi BPPS tersebut dibagi menjadi dua bagian, yaitu :

1. Dialokasikan kepada Program Pascasarjana PTN/PTS yang memenuhi syarat. Cara ini sama dengan pola yang selama ini berjalan.
2. Dialokasikan kepada PTN dan PTS pemilik dosen (dikordinasi oleh Kopertis).

Persyaratan Umum penerima beasiswa BPPS Dikti antara lain:

1. Beasiswa Pendidikan Pascasarjana (BPPS) Ditjen Pendidikan Tinggi pada saat ini hanya diperuntukkan bagi dosen Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, dosen Perguruan Tinggi Swasta (Dosen PNS Dpk, dosen Tetap Yayasan yang telah mempunyai NIK Yayasan serta telah memiliki angka kredit jabatan akademik dosen minimal Asisten Ahli 100), dan sebagian dosen IAIN/STAIN yang berstatus PNS yang mengikuti program S2
2. Dosen PNS yang berasal dari Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta, Sunan Gunung Jati Bandung, Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Alauddin Makassar, Sultan Syarif Qasim Pekanbaru dan Universitas Islam Negeri Malang yang sudah berubah status kelembagaannya dari IAIN/STAIN, dapat diusulkan sebagai peserta S3 calon penerima BPPS
3. Permohonan untuk memperoleh BPPS Ditjen Pendidikan Tinggi harus mendapat persetujuan dan diajukan oleh Rektor/Ketua Perguruan Tinggi asal kepada Direktur Program Pascasarjana yang dituju. Khusus peserta yang berasal dari PTS, persetujuan dan usulan BPPS tersebut harus direkomendasi oleh pihak Kopertis Wilayah asal perguruan tinggi peserta

Pendaftaran Calon Penerima Beasiswa
Penyaringan dalam penerimaan calon penerima program Beasiswa BPPS dilakukan berdasar pada:

1. Prestasi akademik selama menempuh pendidikan program sarjana
2. Keterkaitan bidang ilmu program S2 yang ditempuh dengan bidang ilmu S1-nya dan atau bidang ilmu program S3 yang ditempuh dengan bidang ilmu program S1/S2 dari peserta.

The Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI)

* Up to nine Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI) are available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline except Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).
* Benefits are the waiver of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory performance.
* A scholarship recipient completing a three year degree program who is offered a further year in the Honours Program may apply for an extension of the scholarship to cover that year.
* Scholarships are available only for the first four years of a double degree.

Applications
For students seeking scholarships for study commencing in 2010, a separate application process for scholarships will be required. This includes for applications submitted through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).

AOASI Scholarship Conditions

Eligibility conditions

1. Scholarships will be awarded strictly on academic merit and only actual results can be used. Forecast results are not accepted for scholarship selection. Only complete applications will be considered, and only applicants who have met the University’s minimum English language requirement for direct entry to their intended program of study at the scholarship application deadline will be eligible for consideration. For Australian Year 12 students the basic TER will be used. Bonus points will not be counted.
2. The University reserves the right to vary the awards, or not to offer scholarships if the candidates have not achieved the level of academic achievement to merit the awards.
3. Applicants from education systems accepted by the University of Adelaide for direct entry to the first year of degree studies must apply before commencement of University studies whether in their home country or Australia. Those who have commenced tertiary studies at the time of application will not be eligible.
4. Applicants from education systems where one year of degree studies in their home countries is required for admission to the University of Adelaide first year degree studies must apply before commencement of their second year of studies. Those who have commenced second year studies at the time of application will not be eligible.
5. A scholarship may not be awarded to anyone already holding another scholarship funded by the University of Adelaide.
6. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible for any of the above scholarships.
7. Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status are ineligible to apply.

Enrolment Conditions

1. Scholarship holders must commence study at The University of Adelaide in 2010. By negotiation, an applicant offered a scholarship scheduled to commence in Semester I, 2010 may defer until Semester II, 2010 if there is a Semester II commencement of their chosen program of study. If the applicant is not able to commence in Semester II the scholarship offer will lapse and will not be available to the applicant in 2011.
2. Candidates are required to enrol in The University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. The scholarship will be terminated if a student changes their residency status.
3. Scholarship holders are expected to enrol in a full time load. A scholarship holder who is considering reducing his/her enrolment load must first consult with staff in the International Student Centre. International students are expected to complete their programs within the duration specified on their visa. The University may only extend the duration of study under compassionate or compelling circumstances.
4. Undergraduate scholarships are available for up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress. The University reserves the right to terminate scholarships of students who do not maintain satisfactory progress. Satisfactory progress is defined as the achievement of a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 5 (out of 7).
5. Where a student fails, or withdraws from courses in a given semester (or equivalent teaching period) such that the semester GPA (Grade Point Average) is less than 5.0 in two consecutive semesters, the student will be deemed to have failed to maintain satisfactory academic progress and the scholarship will be terminated unless the University is satisfied that exceptional circumstances exist.
6. If a student faces exceptional circumstances requiring him or her to return home, he/she may apply for a one year deferment of enrolment without loss of scholarship, provided this is approved under the student visa requirements.
7. In order to make a case for exceptional circumstances, a student will need to provide a detailed statement and independent supporting documentation e.g. a doctor’s certificate etc.
8. If a scholarship holder enrols in more than the standard load of 24 units per year, or in courses which increase the tuition fee beyond what is indicated in the scholarship offer letter, or enrols in courses at another institution, he or she shall be responsible for the payment of the additional tuition fees.
9. Students who complete a three-year degree may apply for an additional year, in an Honours program, but extension of the scholarship for the fourth year is subject to the decision of the relevant faculty.
10. The scholarships cover the amount of tuition fee indicated in the scholarship award letter for up to four years of study at the University of Adelaide. The scholarships do not cover the costs of visas, Overseas Student Health Cover, travel, accommodation, living expenses, books and study materials or any other expenses associated with living in Adelaide or study at the University of Adelaide.

The position is available to individuals holding a PhD degree in Biomedical Informatics or related fields

(e.g., computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, biology, or cognitive science) and having an interest in developing skills in biomedical informatics. This postdoctoral position is for one year with a second year possible upon satisfactory performance. The focus of the position will be on research under the supervision of a faculty mentor, but there is the potential of taking some informatics course work towards completing a certificate credential. Possible areas of research include: translational informatics, natural language processing, grid and parallel computing, personalized/genomic medicine clinical informatics, and public health informatics. For talented students a partial scholarship is available that will give a substantial reduction on the tuition fee.

Requirements

* You must have admission to one of Saxion’s International Bachelor programmes as a new student in the bachelor programme,
* You must be a student with a nationality from outside the EU/EEA,
* Scholarships are only awarded for programmes of at least 6-month duration
* Scholarships are awarded for one academic year.

How to Apply

The application for your Bachelor course, will also count as application for the Saxion Talent Scholarship. If you meet the entry requirements, the scholarship will automatically be granted to you on a first come, first served basis. You don’t have to fill in another application form for just the scholarship. The total number of available scholarships is limited.

Please note: Saxion Talent Scholarships are never paid in cash or transferred to a bank account. The scholarships are always deducted from the package fee. Allocation of scholarships is only possible after official enrolment or re-enrolment in each academic year.

Saxion Top Talent Scholarship (STTS)

This scholarship is for excellent and very talented (non-European) students and covers the tuition fee, with exception of the governmental registration fee which is approximately € 1,600.- (for 2009/2010).

* You must have outstanding study results, with an average mark of 75% or higher,

The University of Adelaide offers a scholarships scheme for international students undertaking undergraduate study.

Scholarships for all International Students
The Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI)

* Up to nine Adelaide Outstanding Achiever Scholarships International (AOASI) are available to international students from any country undertaking study in any academic discipline except Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS).

* Benefits are the waiver of full tuition fees for the normal duration of the program, subject to satisfactory performance.
* A scholarship recipient completing a three year degree program who is offered a further year in the Honours Program may apply for an extension of the scholarship to cover that year.
* Scholarships are available only for the first four years of a double degree.

Applications
For students seeking scholarships for study commencing in 2010, a separate application process for scholarships will be required. This includes for applications submitted through the South Australian Tertiary Admissions Centre (SATAC).

The process will require completion of a web-based form that will be available on this website by mid-September 2009. Applicants will be required to have already received a current offer of admission to the University of Adelaide to be considered for a scholarship.

Application Deadlines
The deadline for the 2010 round of undergraduate scholarships has yet to be fixed. AOASI Scholarship Conditions

Eligibility conditions

1. Scholarships will be awarded strictly on academic merit and only actual results can be used. Forecast results are not accepted for scholarship selection. Only complete applications will be considered, and only applicants who have met the University’s minimum English language requirement for direct entry to their intended program of study at the scholarship application deadline will be eligible for consideration. For Australian Year 12 students the basic TER will be used. Bonus points will not be counted.
2. The University reserves the right to vary the awards, or not to offer scholarships if the candidates have not achieved the level of academic achievement to merit the awards.
3. Applicants from education systems accepted by the University of Adelaide for direct entry to the first year of degree studies must apply before commencement of University studies whether in their home country or Australia. Those who have commenced tertiary studies at the time of application will not be eligible.
4. Applicants from education systems where one year of degree studies in their home countries is required for admission to the University of Adelaide first year degree studies must apply before commencement of their second year of studies. Those who have commenced second year studies at the time of application will not be eligible.
5. A scholarship may not be awarded to anyone already holding another scholarship funded by the University of Adelaide.
6. Citizens and Permanent Residents of Australia, and citizens of New Zealand are ineligible for any of the above scholarships.
7. Candidates who have applied for Australian permanent resident status are ineligible to apply.

Enrolment Conditions

1. Scholarship holders must commence study at The University of Adelaide in 2010. By negotiation, an applicant offered a scholarship scheduled to commence in Semester I, 2010 may defer until Semester II, 2010 if there is a Semester II commencement of their chosen program of study. If the applicant is not able to commence in Semester II the scholarship offer will lapse and will not be available to the applicant in 2011.
2. Candidates are required to enrol in The University of Adelaide as ‘international students’ and must maintain ‘international student’ status for the duration of their enrolment in the University. The scholarship will be terminated if a student changes their residency status.
3. Scholarship holders are expected to enrol in a full time load. A scholarship holder who is considering reducing his/her enrolment load must first consult with staff in the International Student Centre. International students are expected to complete their programs within the duration specified on their visa. The University may only extend the duration of study under compassionate or compelling circumstances.
4. Undergraduate scholarships are available for up to four years, subject to satisfactory progress. The University reserves the right to terminate scholarships of students who do not maintain satisfactory progress. Satisfactory progress is defined as the achievement of a GPA (Grade Point Average) of 5 (out of 7).
5. Where a student fails, or withdraws from courses in a given semester (or equivalent teaching period) such that the semester GPA (Grade Point Average) is less than 5.0 in two consecutive semesters, the student will be deemed to have failed to maintain satisfactory academic progress and the scholarship will be terminated unless the University is satisfied that exceptional circumstances exist.
6. If a student faces exceptional circumstances requiring him or her to return home, he/she may apply for a one year deferment of enrolment without loss of scholarship, provided this is approved under the student visa requirements.
7. In order to make a case for exceptional circumstances, a student will need to provide a detailed statement and independent supporting documentation e.g. a doctor’s certificate etc.
8. If a scholarship holder enrols in more than the standard load of 24 units per year, or in courses which increase the tuition fee beyond what is indicated in the scholarship offer letter, or enrols in courses at another institution, he or she shall be responsible for the payment of the additional tuition fees.
9. Students who complete a three-year degree may apply for an additional year, in an Honours program, but extension of the scholarship for the fourth year is subject to the decision of the relevant faculty.
10. The scholarships cover the amount of tuition fee indicated in the scholarship award letter for up to four years of study at the University of Adelaide. The scholarships do not cover the costs of visas, Overseas Student Health Cover, travel, accommodation, living expenses, books and study materials or any other expenses associated with living in Adelaide or study at the University of Adelaide.

Bagi yang merasa masih samar-samar mengetahui tentang beasiswa "ITB
Untuk Semua", berikut ini ide awalnya:

SEBUAH TANTANGAN
Memberi kesempatan kepada anak-anak pandai dari keluarga tak mampu
untuk bersekolah hingga perguruan tinggi adalah upaya yang kompleks.
Berlapis hambatan mesti diatasi. Anak-anak tersebut, meski pandai dan
berbakat memimpin, tak pernah berpikir untuk masuk universitas. Latar
belakang sosial telah memaksa mereka sadar diri untuk tidak
bercita-cita muluk.

Kalaupun mereka terinspirasi masuk universitas, modal pendidikan
sekolah menengah umum yang dimiliki tak mencukupi untuk lulus ujian
penerimaan. Selain belajar di sekolah, anak-anak dari keluarga mampu
ditempa bimbingan belajar yang fokus memberi tips menaklukkan ujian
masuk. Anak-anak pandai dari keluarga miskin—hanya bermodal pelajaran
sekolah--sulit bersaing.

Seandainya ”keajaiban” bisa membuat si anak miskin diterima di
perguruan tinggi, ia menghadapi masalah biaya. Meski tersedia banyak
beasiswa, anak tersebut tetap harus memiliki dana tambahan guna
menopang hidup sehari-hari, membeli buku, kursus bahasa Inggris, dan
sebagainya. Di luar masalah dana, anak ini menghadapi masalah
penyesuaian diri dengan lingkungan kampus dan kota metropolitan. Ia
bisa jadi menghadapi kendala dalam pergaulan sosial dengan teman-teman
kuliahnya yang berasal dari keluarga berada.

Namun demikian, membuka akses anak-anak dari keluarga tak mampu
terhadap pendidikan tinggi adalah keharusan--dan mungkin dilakukan.
Inilah tantangan yang dihadapi setiap masyarakat dalam mewujudkan
keadilan sosial.

Pendidikan merupakan sarana pergerakan vertikal (sosial dan ekonomi)
paling efektif. Pendidikan universitas tak sekedar berdampak pada masa
depan anak tak mampu tersebut. Pendidikan—dan pekerjaan layak yang
diperolehnya kelak—akan membantu ekonomi keluarga. Lebih jauh, lulusan
perguruan tinggi tersebut akan menjadi agen perubahan bagi lingkungan
sosial asalnya.

Kita menyadari ketidakadilan—dan ujian Tuhan—paling mendasar adalah
kenyataan bahwa seorang anak dilahirkan dari keluarga miskin atau
keluarga kaya. Ia tak pernah bisa memilih posisi awal yang akan banyak
menentukan masa depannya. Masyarakat bertugas menemukan solusi atas
tantangan ini. Kita, bersama-sama, harus memungkinkan—atau paling
tidak menginspirasi—bahwa semua anak Indonesia memiliki kesempatan
sama untuk maju dan menyumbangkan kerja serta karya kepada masyarakat
sekitarnya.

Kerugian besar bagi suatu bangsa yang tak mampu mendorong anak-anak
paling berbakat dan terpandainya untuk mendapat pendidikan terbaik
sehingga dapat sepenuhnya menjadi pemimpin kreatif yang ikut memajukan
masyarakat dan bangsanya.

BEASISWA ITB UNTUK SEMUA
Beasiswa ITB Untuk Semua adalah program beasiswa ambisius yang hendak
benar-benar memberi kesempatan kepada anak-anak tak mampu untuk kuliah
di sekolah terbaik di negaranya. Ia berupaya ikut memotong lingkar
kemiskinan. Program ini adalah sebuah "affirmative action" yang
dipelopori perguruan tinggi dan para alumninya.

Dari segi jumlah, beasiswa ini berambisi mengisi 10% dari mahasiswa
baru Institut Teknologi Bandung (jadi, sekitar 300 orang) dengan
anak-anak pandai dan berbakat pemimpin dari keluarga berpenghasilan di
bawah Upah Minimum Regional. Beasiswa ini akan membiayai uang kuliah

Pendaftaran Beasiswa Monbukagakusho bagi lulusan SLTA dan Sederajat untuk keberangkatan tahun 2010 dibuka pada tanggal 25 Mei 2009 dan akan ditutup pada tanggal 24 Juni 2009.

1. Kedutaan Besar Jepang menawarkan Beasiswa Pemerintah Jepang (Monbukagakusho) kepada siswa-siswi Indonesia lulusan Sekolah Lanjutan Tingkat Atas (SLTA) untuk melanjutkan pendidikan ke Universitas (S-1), College of Technology (D-3) atau Professional Training College (D-2) di Jepang mulai tahun akademik 2010 (April 2010). Pelamar hanya bisa mendaftar 1 (satu) program dari S-1, D-3, atau D-2.

Syarat-syarat pengambilan formulir bagi calon pelamar sebagai berikut:
(1)Lahir antara tanggal 2 April 1988 dan tanggal 1 April 1993.

ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia

Application period for the 2010 ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia will be open from 6 June 2009 (9am Indonesia Time) to 15 July 2009 (10pm Indonesia Time).

The ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia is tenable for 4 years leading to the award of the Singapore-Cambridge General Certificate of Education `Advanced' (GCE `A') Level (or equivalent) certificate.

The Scholarship is for studies in selected Singapore schools from Secondary Three to Pre-University Two and is renewed annually, subject to the satisfactory performance of the scholar.

Students from Indonesia are welcome to apply for the ASEAN Scholarships for Indonesia to enter Singapore schools at the Secondary Three level. Candidates who are not short-listed for the scholarships will be considered for the Merit Awards.

Eligibility
Students who meet the following criteria are invited to apply for the scholarship:

Electricity Demand Reduction and Responsive Strategies for Mining Operations

Applications are invited for a three year PhD studentship based within the Camborne School of Mines (CSM), at the University of Exeter's Cornwall Campus near Falmouth, researching the theme of ‘Electricity Demand Reduction and Responsive Strategies for Mining Operations'. This project will contribute to CSM's continuing expansion of research interests in mining and energy. The studentship is being funded by the CSM Trust and will be supervised by Dr Gareth Kennedy and Dr Patrick Foster.
Main objectives of the project:

The electricity demand of mining operations has become an increasingly important factor during the last few decades, particularly with rising energy costs and the limited availability of energy resource. As mining operations continue to grow larger in size, and with the price of electricity set to increase significantly in the near future, a comprehensive strategy to account for these changes will be necessary. The project will concentrate predominantly on developing novel demand reduction and management strategies capable of reducing the electricity demand specifically when the mine is operating under peak conditions. The scheme will forecast the electrical efficiency of a mine several hours and days in advanced, providing the mining operator a real time and pro-active tool for advisory decision support.
The aims and objectives of the project are to: -

study the load demand profile in the mining sector to characterise the overall effects of load-shifting and reduction technique;
develop demand reduction and management strategies that can be deployed in an underground mine without affecting the safe operation of the mines;
develop a prototype smart technology and instrumentation system that will enable such strategies to be implemented;
evaluate carbon footprint reduction as the result of implementing a demand reduction/management system in the mining sector.
Main duties and responsibilities:
The successful applicant will make original contributions to this research through the development of novel control and responsive strategies for reducing electricity costs in mining operations. He/she will be expected to study mine power systems (if there is no prior knowledge) and operations in order to develop this intelligent responsive scheme. The student will be required to participate in the PhD training and development programme offered by the University.
The successful student will also have the opportunity to work closely with the mining industry. This will include on-site visits to underground mines (potentially both in and outside of the UK), obtaining data, and collaborating with major mining companies. In addition to the project work, the student will be expected to attend and present at international conference(s) and publish their work.
Relevant Experience/Qualifications/Skills:
Essential

Experience in numerical and computational methods.
A minimum of an Upper Second Class (2.1) degree in electrical and electronic engineering, mining engineering or related disciplines
Competent use of email and word processing;
Possess good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to produce high quality written technical reports.
Desirable

Evidence of experience in modelling and forecasting electricity demand would be an advantage.
Experience in smart technology and instrumentation system design.
An MSc in electrical, electronic, or mining engineering or a related discipline would be an advantage.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills, including a good knowledge in electrical and electronic engineering. Good understanding about mining operations will be an advantage.
Familiar with LABView, MATLAB or power system simulation packages such as IPSA, PowerFactory/DigSILENT, PSS/E and PSCAD/EMTDC.

The French Government, through the Embassy of France in Jakarta, has been providing excellence scholarships to Indonesian citizens for more than 28 years. In order to pursue its objective to improve Indonesian human resources, the Embassy of France will offer scholarships for the year 2009.

Those scholarships are given to government officials, lecturers, students, with a priority to those involved in a cooperation program between France and Indonesia, to undertake two kinds of training :
- Master degree (maximum duration of 2 years)
- Doctoral degree (maximum duration of 3 years, only on a shared cost basis)

The Joint Master’s Degree (MSc) Programme on Integrated Dry lands
Management brings together different expertise and scientific resources
of the partner institutes to build advanced human capital, generate and
adapt global knowledge for local solutions in dry lands. The programme
provides young professionals and scientists an international perspective
on integrated resources management approaches in dry lands and allows
them to gain practical experience in different dry land countries.
Throughout the programme, a strong emphasis will be placed on
multidisciplinary approaches.

The MSc Programme will offer two components:

1) a short intensive course

2) field research leading to the development of a Master’s thesis.

Tuition Fee and Scholarship

Tuition fee for the MS Programme is US $5,000 including costs of course
delivery, supervision and examination. The tuition fee will be waived
for those students who are recipients of a fellowship. A limited number
of Fellowships will be provided to qualified candidates from developing
countries on a competitive basis. These fellowships will cover the
travel costs between the country of origin and IRA, CAREERI, ICARDA and

KSOP Masters Education. We believe that a Ph.D. graduate school is unlikely to be successful without the background / infrastructure and the “funneling / filtering” through a corresponding associated, interdisciplinary coordinated masters program, aiming at attracting excellent students from abroad.

36 students per year can be admitted to our masters program. The best students of the masters program are supported by the KSOP Scholarship Program. Access to the KSOP masters education is granted via an application procedure.

A study plan is developed for each individual masters student (corresponding to his/her educational background) when entering the KSOP.

The M.Sc. course is divided into four stages providing the students with the necessary prerequisites (Stage I: Introduction), to give them a solid background on the most important topics within the wide and diverse field of Optics and Photonics (Stage II: Core Subjects) and let them acquire specialized knowledge (Stage III: Specialization) to be able to competently perform a six-month research project on a current topic of research (masters thesis). In addition, an 8-weeks industrial internship is scheduled between stages 2 and 3.

Scholarship

The KSOP scholarship amounts to 800 Euro/month for international students and 400 Euro/month for German students. Part of the scholarship is a research assistantship. Within the scope of this assistantship, you will have the opportunity to work on a research project in one of the KSOP institutes.

The scholarship is first admitted for 12 months. At the end you have to proof your successful participation in the KSOP M.Sc. Program through very good study results in order to extend the scholarship for another 12 months.

Project on the Phenomenal Qualities
Department of Philosophy

The University of Hertfordshire invites applications for two full-time doctoral studentships, as part of an AHRC funded three-year research project running at the University of Hertfordshire under the leadership of Professor Paul Coates, to study the nature of phenomenal qualities.

The studentships are for three years full-time study, fully funded at the current AHRC rate of £12,940 per annum, plus fees, starting on October 1st 2009.

The Project focuses upon the cognitive role and ontological nature of phenomenal qualities, and in particular upon their relation to the physical world. It will examine both the “objective” and the “subjective” dimensions of phenomenal qualities as they occur in experiences. One branch of the Project concerns the role that phenomenal qualities play in perception: it will investigate whether they are best understood as intrinsic properties of inner experiences, or alternatively, should be construed as the manifest properties of perceived objects. The second branch of the Project concerns the metaphysics of phenomenal qualities and the philosophy of mind: in particular, it will involve an investigation of the prospects for integrating such qualities within a broadly physicalistic worldview (each branch will be broadly construed, and we accept that there may be some overlap between the areas of investigation).

The Project is a large and ambitious one, involving a worldwide network of leading researchers in philosophy of mind/perception, and will include a high-profile lecture series, seminars, and two workshops, leading up to a major international conference on phenomenal qualities in 2011/12. Successful applicants, therefore, can look forward to being part of a rich and vibrant research community, at the cutting-edge of its discipline.

We seek one PhD student to study full-time within the first branch identified above, on a topic connected with phenomenal qualities and perception, and a second PhD student to study full-time on the topic of phenomenal qualities as this relates to issues in metaphysics and the philosophy of mind. They will be supervised by Professor Coates and by Dr Coleman respectively. Professors Shaun Gallagher and Anthony Marcel will also be on the supervision teams.

Requirements:

Successful applicants will normally be expected to have a 1st class or good Upper 2nd class Honours degree in Philosophy, and also a Masters degree in Philosophy (or be approaching completion of a Masters degree), or the equivalent. Applicants must meet the Residence Eligibility conditions for AHRC awards. They will be expected to play an active role within the research activities organised in the Project.

4. Seleksi.

2009 di Ajendam/Ajenrem.
b. Seleksi Lanjutan.

dipanggil untuk Seleksi Lanjutan berupa Seleksi Psikolgi dan Kesehatan
di daerah yang ditunjuk.
2) Bagi siswa yang dinyatakan lulus seleksi psikologi dan
kesehatan dipanggil ke SMA Taruna Nusantara Magelang untuk wawancara.

3) Seluruh biaya transportasi ditanggung peserta.
c. Diberikan kesempatan bagi Calon Siswa yang memenuhi persyaratan
kelulusan dan bersedia memberikan Kontribusi Khusus guna pengembangan
SMA Taruna Nusantara.

5. Biaya.

a. Calon Siswa dikenakan Biaya.
1) Biaya Pendaftaran Rp. 100.000,- (Seratu ribu rupiah).
2) Seleksi Lanjutan (Wawancara) di Magelang tidak dikenakan biaya.

b) Bagi Calon siswa yang mengundurkan diri setelah dinyatakan
diterima, Iuran sekolah bulan Juli 2009 dikembalikan penuh.

6. Beasiswa.

Pada TP. 2009/2010 SMA Taruna Nusantara menyediakan sejumlah
Beassiwa secara terbatas bagi Calon Siswa yang berprestasi tinggi
namun Orang Tuanya tidak mampu membayar Iuran Sekolah dan Uang
Pangkal. Persyaratan Beasiswa sebagai berikut :
a. Nilai raport SMP dan yang setingkat semester I s.d. V minimal
rata-rata 8 (delapan) untuk mata pelajaran Matematika, IPA, Bahasa
Inggris, dan bahasa Indonesia dan masing-masing pelajaran memenuhi
nilai minimal 7,5
b. Para siswa/siswi potensial dan berprestasi namun nilai
rata-rata kurang dari 8 (delapan) diberikan kesempatan mengajukan
minat untuk mendaftarkan diri menjadi peserta beasiswa dengan
rekomendasi dari Kepala Sekolah dan Guru mata pelajaran yang
bersangkutan.
c. Tidak pernah tinggal kelas selama mengikuti pendidikan SMP atau
setingkat dan lulus tahun ajaran 2008/2009.
d. Mengikuti prosedur Pendaftaran dan Seleksi yang telah ditetapkan.
e. Mengisi Formulir Pengajuan Beasiswa FORM NO : 03-2009.
f. Menyerahkan Daftar Penghasilan Orang Tua (Bapak dan Ibu atau
Wali) dan Instansi tempat bekerja atau dari Lurah/Kepala Desa
setempat.

Lowongan Beasiswa PhD scholarships with QUT’s School of Economics and Finance 2009 2010

QUT’s School of Economics and Finance is seeking three PhD students to
undertake study in the areas of behavioural economics and applied
microeconometrics.

The scholarships are attached to a large international research group
sponsored by the Australian Research Council, AusAid, the World Bank, the
Ford Foundation and the German Labour Institute (IZA) as well as an
international collaboration with European companies.

The successful applicants will work with researchers from the Australian
National University and the QUT-based National Centre for Econometric
Research.

They will be expected to follow standard economic PhD coursework in all
fields of economics and to engage in a variety of analyses, such as handling
large-scale data sets on migration in China, performing economic experiments
in Australia with and without measuring heart rates, or developing a
theoretical view of human decision making (including migration, network
formation and attitudes towards risk and collaboration).

* At least an Honours 2A or international equivalent thereof in
economics or closely related subfield.
* Good verbal and written English language skills.
* A proven high ability in the use of analytical methods, as witnessed

* The ability to work with world-class researchers from many different
countries (Australia, the United States, England, China, Indonesia, Germany)
and the desire to become a research-oriented economist.

The scholarships

The school is offering three full-time scholarships to the value of $26,140
per annum (tax exempt and indexed annually) for three years.

Top up scholarships and/or Research Assistant work may be available.

Area (a)
The advertised positions will offer the opportunity to follow a
self-defined PhD
project in the general research orientation at IRU.
Innovation, the creation of new, technologically feasible, commercially
realisable
products and processes, is permanently emerging from an ongoing interaction
process of innovative organisations such as universities, research
institutes,

firms, government agencies, venture capitalists and others. These actors
generate and exchange knowledge, financial capital, and other resources in
networks of relationships which are embedded in institutional frameworks
on the
local, regional, national and international level. While the contexts of
innovation
performance provide turbulent environments with high uncertainty and
ambiguity, innovation networks in complex social systems typically show
characteristics such as multi-scale interactions with high contingency
and nonlinearity,
emergent behaviour, pattern formation, and self-organisation. IRU’s
research deals with governance issues of innovation networks in complex
social
systems. Most projects combine a conceptual framework of complexity science
and social systems theory with computational methods such as network
analysis,
agent-based modelling and social simulation. Successful candidates need
to apply
with a project idea fitting this framework.
Area (b)
The advertised positions at IRU (UCD Innovation Research Unit,
http://casl.ucd.ie/iru) are funded by UCD´s Vice-President for Research. IRU
works in an environment that will commission independent, multidisciplinary
research focused on the broad role, drivers and impacts of innovation.
It will
advance knowledge of a broad definition of innovation through high-quality,
independent research which is fully engaged with policy and practitioner
communities. It will ensure the maximum impact of new knowledge on
policy and
practice and develop capacity, in terms of people, data and methods, for
future
research and knowledge exchange. Successful candidates need to engage fully
with the mission of IRU and assist in establishing the unit.
The Positions
Since IRU is an interdisciplinary research environment, any disciplinary
background of the PhD candidates are welcome. We are looking for excellent
candidates from the natural and social sciences with an interest in
combining
empirical research and modelling activities for complex systems, in our case
innovation systems. A sound background in research methods using both,
quantitative (prominently social network analysis and agent-based
simulation)
and qualitative methods is mandatory though UCD offers the possibility for
starting PhDs with a bachelor degree.
Organisational skills, love for detail, and social competence would be
desirable;
very good written and oral English, and permanent residence in
Dublin/Ireland is
mandatory.
In addition to the superior payment, this positions provide the
opportunity to
work in an international research team doing cutting-edge innovation
research.
The successful candidates will enrol in the new PhD Programme “Complex
Systems and Computational Social Science” at UCD and will receive a PhD

Doctoral Scholarship at Victoria University : The Discourse of
Negotiation in Professional Workplace Contexts

The role of effective workplace communication skills for achieving
transactional objectives can be considered fundamental to workplace
success for most organisations.

While important in all aspects of workplace interaction, these skills
are crucial in the negotiation of complex and potentially conflictual
agreements which potentially carry far-reaching consequences (Norisada
2007, Prego-Vazquez 2007, Pavlenko and Blackledge 2004, Locher 2004).
The negotiation process is a communicative endeavour with discourse as
the tool by which participants achieve (or fail to achieve) their
intended outcomes. A detailed analysis of discourse in social
interaction can thus throw valuable light on the range of strategies
which may contribute to resolving disputes and disagreements in
problematic and challenging negotiations.

The research objective is to identify the discursive characteristics of
effective negotiators and negotiations in potentially conflictual
situations in professional workplaces. The specific workplace(s) to be
the focus of the research, including industry/sector, will be negotiated
with potential applicants.

Sesuai dengan Keputusan Pemerintah Federasi Rusia tentang penerimaan
mahasiswa asing di perguruan tinggi Rusia, maka pada tahun ajaran
2009/2010 Pemerintah Federasi Rusia memberikan 30 beasiswa bagi warga
negara Republik Indonesia. Dengan jenjang, persyaratan dan bidang
studi sebagai berikut.

1. Jenjang

Beasiswa diberikan untuk Jenjang S-1 (Bachelor) dan S-2 (Magister)
sebanyak 25 beasiswa. Sedangkan untuk Jenjang S-3 (Kandidatura) ,

3. Perguruan Tinggi dan Proses Belajar

Perguruan Tinggi/Universitas tujuan belajar terdapat di kota-kota di
seluruh Federasi Rusia. Penempatan penerima beasiswa ditentukan oleh
Pemerintah Federasi Rusia.

Proses belajar-mengajar diselenggarakan dalam bahasa Rusia. Untuk itu
selama 1 (satu) tahun semua penerima beasiswa program studi S-1 dan
S-2 akan belajar di Fakultas Persiapan (Preparatory Faculty) untuk
mempelajari bahasa Rusia dan mata pelajaran yang sesuai dengan
jurusan/program studi yang telah dipilih.

Bagi Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3, Doktorantura dan
penelitian/pelatiha n akan mempelajari bahasa Rusia selama proses
belajar (tidak melalui Fakultas Persiapan).

4. Persyaratan

Untuk Jenjang S-1 dan S-2:

· Para pelamar beasiswa harus memiliki ijazah Sekolah Menengah SMU
yang setara dengan ijazah SMU Rusia dengan nilai untuk mata pelajaran
pokok/sesuai dengan spesialisasi yang akan dipilih tidak lebih rendah
dari 80% tingkat maksimalnya (Nilai Rata-rata 8,0). Untuk mata
pelajaran lainnya juga harus bernilai baik (tidak ada angka merah).
(Untuk Jenjang S-2 harus memiliki ijasah S-1 dengan IPK
sekurang-kurangnya 2,50);

· Kurun waktu antara tamat Sekolah Menengah/SMU (atau lembaga
pendidikan pra-perguruan tinggi lainnya) dengan saat pendaftaran
beasiswa ini harus tidak melampaui 3 tahun.

· Usia para calon untuk S-1 hendaknya tidak lebih dari 25 tahun dan
S-2 tidak lebih dari 30 tahun.

Untuk Jenjang S-3, Penelitian, Post Doktoral:

· Calon Penerima beasiswa Jenjang S-3 harus berpendidikan
berpendidikan tinggi setingkat M.Sc./M.A.,

· mempunyai pengalaman kerja yang sesuai dengan spesialisasinya;

· usia hendaknya tidak melampaui 35 tahun.

5. Berkas Lamaran

Berkas lamaran lengkap diserahkan langsung ke Bagian Kebudayaan
Kedutaan Besar Federasi Rusia – Pusat Ilmu Pengetahuan dan Kebudayaan
Rusia (Jl. Diponegoro, 12, Menteng, Jakarta Pusat, telp./fax:
31935290) sebelum tanggal 20 Maret 2009.

Berkas surat lamaran dimasukkan ke dalam Map/Amplop Kuning (untuk
S-1), Merah (untuk S-2) dan Hijau (Untuk S-3/Penelitian) harus dengan
isi dan urutan sebagai berikut:

1. Application Form dalam Bahasa Inggris

2. Fotokopi ijazah/sertifikat dari tingkat pendidikan yang
bersangkutan beserta transkrip nilainya dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa
Inggris yang telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

3. Surat keterangan bahwa calon telah mengikuti tes kesehatan dan
tidak mempunyai hambatan dalam menghadapi iklim Rusia dalam Bahasa
Inggris dan telah dilegalisir oleh Instansi yang berwenang;

4. Surat keterangan bebas HIV/AIDS yang telah dilegalisir oleh
Instansi yang berwenang;

5. Fotokopi Akta Kelahiran dan terjemahannya dalam Bahasa Inggris yang
telah dilegalisir oleh Notaris;

6. Fotokopi lembar pertama Paspor RI dengan data-data calon penerima
beasiswa (untuk mengisi formulir bagi visa),

7. Sepuluh lembar pasfoto ukuran 4 x 6 cm.

Untuk pelamar Jenjang S-3 sekaligus harus menyerahkan daftar judul
publikasinya (jikalau ada) dan referat singkat (proposal singkat)
maksimal 2 halaman tentang tema penelitian ilmiah untuk studi S-3-nya
rangkap 2 (dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris). Bagi lulusan perguruan
tinggi Rusia harus membuat proposal dalam bahasa Indonesia dan Bahasa
Rusia.

6. Lain-lain

Segala hal menyangkut kedatangan dan domisili keluarga penerima
beasiswa tidak menjadi tanggungan perguruan tinggi dimana mahasiswa
belajar.

Penerima beasiswa S-1 dan S-2 harus sudah berada di Rusia terhitung
sejak tanggal 1 s/d 15 September 2009, penerima beasiswa untuk S-3 dan
pelatihan/training – sebelum tanggal 1 Desember 2009.

The government of Japan and the World bank invite applications from mid-career professionals in developing countries for The Joint Japan/World bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP). The application deadline for the program is March 31st, 2009.

The program supports studies at the master’s degree level in fields related to development at universities in World Bank member countries.

In 2009, the Program collaborates with 41 higher education institutions worldwide and candidates are encouraged to apply to one of these institutions. Applications to other higher education institutions will also be considered.

Who can apply?

Taiwan International Graduate Program (TIGP) PhD Studentship
Funded by the government, Academia Sinica (http://www.sinica.edu.tw/main_e.shtml) is the most prominent research institution in Taiwan. In 2002, in
collaboration with a consortium of prominent local research
universities, Academia Sinica established the Taiwan International
Graduate Program (TIGP) that offers the following 9 highly specialized
interdisciplinary PhD programs and a generous funding, a grant of
NT$32,000 (US$1050) per month, to each student for up to 3 years.

The PhD programs:
1. Chemical Biology and Molecular Biophysics (CBMB) Program : Under the leadership of the predecessor and the present program director, CBMB has become an excellent interdisciplinary program that stresses student
training in basic sciences at the interface between chemistry/physics
and biology. The 47 faculty members have expertise covering
biochemistry, bioorganic and bioinorganic chemistry, biophysics and
bioinformatics, carbohydrate synthesis, mass spectrometry, molecular
biology, organic and medicinal chemistry and structural biology. Core
courses provided are ‘Fundamental Chemical Biology and Molecular
Biophysics’, ‘Experimental Molecular Biophysics’, and ‘Advanced
Chemical Biology’.

The research alliance JARA-Brain between the University Hospital of the RWTH Aachen
University and the Institute for Neuroscience and Medicine at the Research Center Jülich
investigates the structure and function of the human brain in health and neuro-
psychiatric disorders in order to develop new diagnostic or therapeutic approaches.

As part of the growth of JARA-Brain, a three-year PhD position has become available in
the “Neuropsychiatric Systems Biology” group (head: Prof. Dr. Simon Eickhoff) at the Dept.
of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University of Aachen (head: Prof. Dr. Dr. Frank
Schneider). Working at the interface between basic neuroscience and its clinical
application, this research group addresses the following questions: How are the processes
underlying motor, cognitive and affective functions organised in the human brain? How do
their different components interact to form physiological networks? How is this regional
organisation or its functional integration disturbed in patients suffering from neurological
or psychiatric disorders? Which models for the pathophysiological mechanisms underlying
clinical symptoms can be derived from these findings?

Methods that will be learned and applied during the course of the PhD project include the
performance of neuroimaging experiments using fMRI, the analysis of effective
connectivity between brain regions by Dynamic Causal Modelling und quantitative Meta-
Analyses of published functional imaging results.

We are now looking for a PhD student with a strong interest in this multidisciplinary
research. Applicants should have a degree in Neuroscience, Psychology, Medicine,
Informatics, Biology or related areas. A background in neuroanatomy, statistics and/or
fMRI analysis techniques (SPM, FSL, MATLAB etc) would be of advantage, readiness to learn
new methods in an interdisciplinary environment a necessary requirement.

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) - Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) was established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan. It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB`s developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development- related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. The ADB-JSP enrolls about 300 students annually in 20 academic institutions located in 10 countries within the Region.

SCHOLARSHIP DESCRIPTION
The ADB-JSP provides full scholarships for one to two years.

Man Group PhD Awards in Signal Processing and Statistics.

Man Group PhD Studentships are available to three-year PhD students
(whether UK/EU or overseas) in the Signal Processing and
Communications Laboratory (Department of Engineering) or the

Doctoral Scholarships for Developing Countries in Switzerland 2009 by Sawiris Scholarships

The Sawiris Scholarships promote doctoral research for the benefit of developing countries. The projects have to be innovative and develop a method or product, which is directly relevant for improving the livelihoods of poor people in developing countries.

The application procedure varies depending on the relationship that the doctoral candidate has with the ETH Zurich.

Criteria for candidates without link to the ETH Zurich:

Eligibility
To be admitted to the selection process, the application has to fulfil the following requirements:

The candidate
1.Preference will be given to citizens of least developed countries and other low-income countries according to the OECD classification.

3.Experience in the selected research area is required.

The research project
1.The proposal is of high scientific quality.
2.The research topic is innovative and relevant for development.

The partnership
1. Projects involving a research partner from a developing country have to be based on the KFPE principles.
2. All partners have been involved in project formulation and development.
3. All partners make a substantial in-kind or cash commitment.
4. The project is integrated into the general activities of the involved institutions.
5. Preference will be given to projects with partners in least developed countries and other low-income countries according to the OECD classification.

Application procedure
For candidates who do not yet have a supervisor at the ETH Zurich the application procedure consists of two steps.

First step – The candidate has to submit a concept note (details see below) to the North-South Centre. The deadline for submitting concept notes is June 30. In case that a suitable supervisor at the ETH Zurich can be identified and that he/she is ready to accept the candidate as a doctoral student, the supervisor can submit the full proposal.

Second step – Full proposals can be submitted to the North-South Centre by the supervising ETH professor once a year. The deadline is February 15 of the subsequent year.

Concept note
1.The proposed research has to be concerned with the development of a method or product, which is directly relevant to poor people in developing countries.
2.The research topic has to be within the thematic scope of ETH Zurich.
3.A potential research group at the ETH Zurich, where the proposed research could be embedded, has to be identified. http://www.ethz.ch/research/index_EN

5.The research outline should not exceed 3000 characters (with spaces).
6.Relevant own publications or relevant earlier activities by the candidate should be indicated.

Full proposal
A scholarship of CHF 150,000 can be granted per proposal for a period of three years. The application in electronic form has to be submitted by the professor of the ETH Zurich who has accepted to supervise the candidate. The proposal of maximum 15 pages has to include the following information:

The Monbukagakusho offers scholarships to international students with recommendations from their host universities under the following guidelines:

ELIGIBILITY AND CONDITIONS
1) Applicants must be graduate students who will newly enter Japan for the purpose of study.
2) Nationality: Applicants must have nationality of a country that is recognized by the Japanese government as of April 1, 2009.
3) Age: Applicants must have been born on or after April 2, 1974.
4) Educational Qualifications: Applicants must have at least an undergraduate degree.
5) Major Fields: Applicants must specialize in the same or related field as their area of study in their home university. It must also be a field in which the applicant can receive supervision and guidance at the institution where the applicant has been admitted.
6) Language: All courses at this program are conducted in English. Applicants must possess a sufficiently high level of English proficiency to be able to take classes in English.
7) Health: Applicants must be in both good physical and mental health.
8) Arrival in Japan: Applicants must arrive in Japan on the date designated by the host institution in mid-September, 2009. Applicants will be notified of further details regarding arrival in Japan at a later date. Neither travel allowances nor lump-sums will be provided in cases where travel to Japan is not possible between the designated dates.
9) Application Deadline: Ritsumeikan will undertake preliminary screening of applications prior to forwarding them to the Monbukagakusho (in addition to other documents prepared by the university). ENS Cachan International Scholarship Programme

1) The Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan (ENS de Cachan) has implemented a ScholarshipProgramme aimed at foreign students who are currently studying or have studied and obtained their latest diploma outside of France.

Scholarship

Cambridge University, UK, will offer, via the Cambridge Trusts, at least 40 Cambridge International Scholarships to Overseas Students who embark on a research course in 2009-10. The awards will be made on a competitive basis to those applicants considered by their departments to be the most outstanding.

Value of the award

Each award will underwrite the full cost of fees and maintenance for the duration of the course.

Duration of the award

The award has a maximum duration of three years and is available to all students who will be registered for a three year research programme, leading to the PhD (including CPGS), that starts in the academic year 2009-10.

Eligibility

To be eligible to receive a Cambridge International Scholarship students must:

1. be liable to pay the Overseas University Composition Fee.
2. be engaged in a three year research programme leading to the PhD (i.e. will be registered as PhD, “Probationary PhD” or “CPGS”) starting in the academic year 2009-10.
3. be engaged in full-time study.
4. have a high upper-second-class undergraduate honours degree from a UK Higher Education Institution, or an equivalent from an Overseas Institution.

NB. All students applying for a course of one year duration or less (including LLM, MSt, MBA, MED, Part III Mathematics, MPhil) in the academic year 2009-10 are not eligible for a CISS award for 2009-10.

The application process

Every eligible applicant for a three year research course leading to the PhD in 2009-10 will be considered to have applied for a Cambridge International Scholarship provided their completed Graduate Admission and Scholarship Application Form is received by the Board of Graduate Studies before 15th December 2008. Applicants are expected to also seek funding from other sources.
Departments will rank their outstanding applicants for consideration in the competition.
Several hundred partially funded awards will also be made by the Cambridge Trusts using the departmental CISS ranking list.

The attention of applicants is drawn to the 15th December 2008 deadline.
